What you should know about natural gas
Natural gas is supporting the expansion of a cleaner energy future that meets growing energy demands. Invenergy has been developing natural gas projects for over 20 years, and has successfully developed more than 6 GW across 13 efficient natural gas projects.
How Natural Gas Works
- 1 Ambient air is filtered to remove dust and contaminants.
- 2 Air is compressed to high pressure by a compressor.
- 3 Fuel is injected into the compressed air and combusted to heat the air.
- 4 The hot compressed air is expanded through a turbine to turn a generator and produce electrical power.
- 5 The electric output of the generator is transformed to a high voltage.
- 6 The electrical power is transmitted via transmission lines.

Wisconsin State Journal: Natural gas is key to Wisconsin's energy security
"The blockade in Iran is causing higher prices and inflationary pressures for Wisconsin families — and the longer it goes on, the longer the impacts will stay. But this supply squeeze has also shown that countries with strong and diverse domestic supplies of energy, particularly natural gas, have been able to better insulate everyday consumers."
