As President of the Village of Somers, I welcome this investment in our community. The presence of reliable, readily available sources of energy supports the growing energy needs for new housing and economic development opportunities.

Projects such as Red Oak Ridge are essential job creators and sources of investment for their host communities. Host communities can put this revenue to work by investing in needs such as education, emergency and veteran services, infrastructure, and more.

Without a corresponding increase in supply, higher demand leads to higher prices and energy scarcity, which negatively impacts all Wisconsinites and the State economy. Red Oak Ridge will help address these challenges by adding critical peaking electricity supply and ensuring that power remains reliable, available, and affordable for Wisconsin homes and businesses.
